Thats a good point. Since art is really just a story with one specific point that is not connected to any universal concepts, it is not really possible to be creative when working with a pre-existing text. Why even bother casting new actors. We could just have the original performers come back and do it again. This would work perfectly for say the Greek tragedies, since all of the original players are, tragically, deceased.
